Welcome to the Lancaster University Mountaineering Club homepage. We are a group of keen climbers, many of us under the guise of ‘student’ based at Lancaster University. Club trips happen about once a week to multitude of venues and rocktypes. We are lucky to have such a wide variety of climbing on our doorstep and we like to make the best of it, come rain or shine.

In addition to climbing trips, we have an exciting social calendar, administered by our tamed social secs, Adam and Bec. Notable socials include the roped bar crawl, the end-of-term formals and the Ultimate Outdoors sponsored competition (with many freebies!). In addition to this, we organise plenty of regular, more “low-key” pub-meets and film nights throughout the year. We feel that introducing climbers to one another is an important function of the club, so we would encourage you to come along to as many socials as possible. You may find that the ‘once a week with the club’ becomes a ‘five a week’ climbing addiction…
